margolily newsletter - ostrich and llama

So a year of treasure filled delights has passed for margolily!

Indeed from crazy fascinator making for shops in Glasgow and Edinburgh, fluffing the feathers of birds in theater, decorating brides and their gorgeous guests, going down the market with Made in the Shade, Beanscene and the very lovely Handmaid Heaven in Dundee, strutting down high fashion catwalks (always the best dressed chicken!), even going back to school and learning some very sparkley tiara making skills and also in the pipeline are fascinator making workshops for hens and friends... it's been a high old time for margolily! Margolily has even befriended an ornithologist who passionately collects and categorises bird feathers from the Aberdeenshire fields and skies. What a lucky lady margolily has been! And of course dear friend Michelle who has massaged tired of knitting elbows and limbs to spring back like new and get making, nimble like!

So to dreaming and sewing along to my talking books, with thoughts of an ostrich and a llama in my head...

Full feather and fig, kindest wishes,

My Photo

Kakao by K Fashion Show pics

Margolily struts her stuff, fluffing her feathers for Kakao by K.

Songbird

Margolily's first ever head piece for theatre, working alongside lovely wardrobe mistress
Jenny Loof and designer Brian Hartley to create a headpiece for an exotic bird in a piece of
children's theatre! The head piece underwent many transformations and I think it grew each time,
this is a photo in it's early days.

Pearl and Mallard

Wow! Coloured Earth boutique owner Michelle posted me some mallard feathers to create something for a wedding she was going to. I had a lot of fiddling and a few attempts at more demure pieces before coming up with this extravaganza...a bit of a departure for margolily! Michelle added the pearls and it's come together to look very magnificent! Good team work!
